Line6 Variax 700 4 string.

Iv'e just got hold of a variax 4 string which i need to re-string,my question to Variax users is,does it really matter what type or make of strings i use as the bass is modelling and the sounds are pre progammed into the bass?so will spending more on say, a set of High Beams, as apposed to a set of cheaper strings make any difference in the tone?thanks guys.

It doesn't affect your sound, or effects, or models: but strings
do matter talkin' about brilliancy, muddiness or anything else in between

Strings influence "character" of a given sound. To me at least

According to the manual you can use whatever strings you like and will have the same effect as on any other bass. The bass originally comes with D'Addario XL170's so you might start there. I like the D'Addario Pro Steels.

Funny you should say about the Pro Steels because iv'e just put some on the bass,although a bit more trebley,as they are new i guess,they do sound ok.

I also think that mine sounds best with Pro Steels.
