Linking cabs

At home I have this set up

Ashdown 180 electric blue
1st cab - Ampeg classic 1x15
2nd cab - Genz Benz live series 4x10

Both cabs are 8 ohms and my amp can run at 4ohms so I think that's all fine. (I'm not too good with ohms and loading and such)

My problem is that my Ampeg cab is a fair bit louder than the Genz Benz to the point where you don't notice it unless you're right up against it.

Anyone know why this would be?

Not really. Usually with a 1x15 and a 4x10, it's the other way around (the 4x10 is usually much louder than the 1x15).

Could also be only that one is perceived to be louder due to voicing. I have the Ampeg 1x15 classic cab, and it's quite mid prominent, and so perceived to be loud.
