I can't get into the Bass Guitar Forums either! I can get to the Double Bass Forum, but clicking on the Bass Guitar Forums...nada back at the Welcome to Talkbass Home page.

I apologize for the inconvenience. It appears that somebody gained access to our URL rewriting software's config file over the weekend. The result was that the format of all TalkBass URL's changed, sometime early this morning. So what was:
"www.talkbass.com/forum/f45"
became
"www.talkbass.com/forum/forum45.html"
When y'all tried to access the normal URL "www.talkbass.com/forum/f45", the system no longer recognized it and dumped you back to the home page (which is the default action for unrecognized pages).
The issue was fixed 6 hours ago. If you're still having problems, you're getting cached data. A lot of ISP's will cache data, and data is also cached on your computer. Bottom line is, this will iron itself out eventually. If you hover your mouse over a link and the destination URL ends in .html, you're getting that link from cached data (and not the newest version from the TB server).
For example, if you over over a link and see the destination is:
"http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f8/sadowsky-fender-867732/"
you're good to go. If instead you see
"http://www.talkbass.com/forum/thread867723.html"
you've been given old data, and if you click that you'll be headed to the home page.
To clear this up as fast as possible, and make sure that you're viewing non-cached pages with good links, reload using "F5" to force-clear your cache:
Windows: Ctrl + F5
Mac/Apple: Apple + R or Cmd + R
Linux: F5

I have cleared my cache, the link does not end in the .html, yet I still get dumped back to the Forum page.
I was finally able to clear my cache and I am now able to access the Bass Guitar Forum! Whew! Thank you Paul and David!

Yup that's a valid link and should take you to the "Sadowsky or Fender" thread. The "new" at the end of the URL means the link will take you to the first unread post in the thread.
I don't mean to be stupid, but how do I "clear my cache?" Isn't there a link or something for this? I am very frustrated; five years on here and never a problem till now. Just finding this thread took an hour.
try the 'force reload' steps Paul posted earlier, if those dont' work then clear your cache. This is part of whichever browser you use. Google search for browsername + clear cache and you'll get the instructions. e.g. 'firefox clear cache'

I ran my Clear cache, CCleaner, reboots and even super cookie killers didn't fix it on my end either.
The FORUM JUMP to BASSES [DB] is still screwed up.
EDIT: Better Privacy now reports that the drop-down to BASSES is a malevolent site and blocks my attempts to view it.

I can't start posts, reply (except quick reply), leave feedback, or PM's using either of my computers. I fill in the title, but the body text block is in light blue. When I fill it in and submit I get a message that my message is too short. This used to randomly happen, but now it is 100% of the time.
Strangely enough I can post using my Kindle Fire, but then the screen is so small and I can't use the search function. Do you have any suggestions?

I am on the road, so I am using the TB app on my phone, which is working fine. Wierd.

Have you actually cleared the cache in your browser? I'm not sure what "running Clear Cache" does, but in Firefox, pull down "Tools" to "Clear Recent History". Here's a good site with instructions for all other browsers:
