Linux live CD roundup story

    Using a live evaluation CD to try out various distributions of Linux on one's computer was discussed in an earlier thread, but I'm too lazy to go hunting for it to append this:


    The story in the above link has a fairly decent and up to date list of the major live CDs available, along with which ones the author prefers for which machines and tasks. It's a good read if you're at all interested in Linux, and even better if you're actively looking at making the jump in the near future.

    yes, you can also get some good stuff here too!

    the liveCD is a great way to try linux without installing it onto your computer. i think a big reason more people don't go to linux is because they haven't tried it out, and don't want to reformat their computer or partition their hard drive to make room for it!
    i encourage the livecd!
