Liquid Damage?

So my younger sister thought it would be nice to clean my bass with a clorox wipe. I have squire Jaguar Bass. I was unaware she was doing so and I come to play this morning and all the Jazziness is completely out of my bass. ( i didnt know anyone touched my bass) i messed around with the tone on my amp and on my bass, checked my chord, moved to a different room and tryed a new outlet. Now im convinced my bridge pickup is messed up. My E and A string have no Jazz sound but my D and G just have a little Jazziness.


let my know if anyone else has this dull lifeless sound coming from their bass and what the solution would be . Thanks a ton

Try some contact cleaner. She may have left some "goo" in there from the cleaning process.

More seriously I'm surprised a wipe would leave that much liquid especially since it evaporates afterward. For liquid damage, a hair blower should do the trick. Use your sister's...

I find it hard to believe that clorox wipes would do any damage to the electricals. Even if you spilled beer on the bass, or something, it probably wouldn't be enough to soak into the pickups. Pickups are basically insulated wire wrapped around magnets. You would need to have a pool of liquid between the hot and ground leads on the bobbins for liquid to have any effect.

Sounds like maybe the battery is dead (if it's active), as it takes more power to drive the lower end.
As above, there's not really much liquid at all in those wipes- not likely enough to have an affect.
