Lists of Performing Rights-licensed bars/establishments

Is there a database somewhere where I can search for bars in my area that have a license for live music?

I'm trying to hit up as many bars as I can to get more gigs and I figured this would be a great resource. It's a bummer when you take the time to go somewhere and turns out they can't hire you because they don't have the license for live music. Any other suggestions on finding out who has a license?

If they have posters up, they hire bands. If they don't, then they don't.

Go to bars that have live music. Now, some places only hire originals bands because they don't have an ASCAP and/or BMI license. Some places without a license still hire cover bands, but that's not your problem.

Find bands in the same genre as you. Go to their Facebook page. See where they are playing. It aint rocket science.
