Little Mark II fan noise question?

Maybe have it checked out, because the fan on my LM2 isn't loud at all.

Yes I have played with loud-fanned-amps but I've never had a mic close enough to it on stage to matter to the FOH mix.
Splitting hairs a bit no? I mean, if we want alot of juice, we've gotta have something cooling things off.

if the fan is louder than what a person is used to in an amp and enough for anyone to notice, then obviously, something's up w/ the unit.

sure, a car engine wont lull you to sleep, but if you're hearing stranger than normal noises, you'd be concerned.

to take it to a more personal level, my DLP tv seemed to make louder than normal background hum, and tried to think nothing of it. finally got fed up, and it wasnt until after finally replacing the projection unit, i realized how flippin' loud and broken it really was.

Not sure what other heads you've owned (didn't read through all the posts here) but the LMII fan is EXTREMELY quiet. Requires dead silence to hear it in my bedroom. I never hear it even at church after thing get quiet right after a loud set. If you have had experience with other heads that have truly noisy fans, and you still think the LMII is noisy, then something must be wrong with it. Take it back and exchange for a new one.

Just got a CMD 121H online from music123 (great deal!) and it looks like I have a noisy fan after reading the posts here. I had a GK1001RB before this and never heard the fan once...can hear this one for sure. Nothing awful, but still there...

Great amp so far! We'll see what music123 says...

1. Ship it back to them for a new amp. A lot of shipping costs and time, don't have a back up...

2. Email Marbass. Did that. Waiting for reply...

Talk to my bass instructor last night, he has a cmd 121p, he does hear the fan, but never bothered him...

Mine may just need some break in time or I'm being to picky...After 15 years in bands my ears are not the greatest so I'm still thinking it could be a bad fan...no bearing noise, more air turbulance type of sound...
