Double Bass Little Mark Tube & Fishman Plat Pre?

Anyone using this combo? Specifically, using mic input phantom power to power the platinum pre? This is how I'm running with my EA Doubler now: Full Circle-Plat pre-EA doubler mic input ch2. Gary at EA said he'd not heard anyone doing this but it's working for me. I've been able to get a lot of volume for loud gigs. However, I dig Markbass stuff for electric bass and thought the tube plus the Fishman might be a good combo as well. Thoughts?

Did you ever try the Fishman into the Little Mark? I'm thinking about doing the same thing but might use a different pre than the Fishman.

Yes. I love it. Phantom powers my Platinum pre and I run the electric in channel two. It works great. I know folks like the neutral flavor of the EA stuff but the Markbass stuff is better for my sound.

How would you describe the difference between EA and Markbass for upright? I'd be using an external pre for the upright too.

Honestly, I feel the like the DB difference was probably minimal using a pre. For me and my set up, I got an overall fatter sound out of both my basses with the MB. I was never sold on the EA for my electric bass and so the MB stuff is good for my playing style and what I do. Before anyone flames me - my setup is not great for everyone, it depends on so many factors, and I'm not saying anything bad about EA. I also switched cabinets at the same time so some of the sound change is attributed there as well (see my profile for info). In sum, both are great heads but I like the MB color with the Vintage tone control stuff and overall the MB stuff is better for both my DB and electric bass.

Since I play a good deal of EB, I thought of the Markbass amps, which I've played through and like. My idea was to use the 2nd input of the LM-II or perhaps the LM-Tube for the UB (pickup > preamp for gain and EQ > Markbass). I'm wondering if the Markbass will be clean enough for the UB. I've played the EA doubler which was nice and clean. Would most likely use a single 12 with a lot of definition.
