Tug bars look so... unlikely. I don't mind some unlikely aspect to an instrument- maybe even almost awkward, somehow. It might not make me pick it for a purchase, but I can dig it.

Little things you like for no reason

I love a pearloid pick guard. Might have been said already, but I wasnt going to read 11 pages to avoid redundancy.
Not sure why, but I'm a sucker for bound fretboards, especially if the headstock also has binding as well. That's one of the reasons I consider my old Nordstrand SC5 one of the most beautiful basses ever, I suppose...
Well...
-Classic looks tend to get me.
-Maple necks and black or dark bodies. Or natural finishes.
-Originality of a bass design. Meaning if it has that awesome, classic Fender headstock, it better be a Fender and not some knock off from a company that put a different degree in the cut and called it their own.
-Fender headstocks.
-Saw someone say they like smaller headstocks and bodies. I on the other hand love the larger instruments. Headstocks and bodies both
-Tuners all on the same side.
-I hate the lollipop tuners so clovers for me.
-Black or chrome hardware. Hate gold.
-Knurled and smooth turning control knobs. No grinding or hiccups when adjusting.
-The nut on the input jack on the bass has to be tighter than hell. I hate when my cable is wobbling around.
-The input jack also has to have a tight fit to the cable. Almost like a locking feature. (Not sure if this is something you can get or it happens because of it being a new jack)
-Absolutely have to have a molded hard case. Got a non-molded with the P I just got from a guy and it's driving me crazy.
I know for a fact that there is more. That doesn't even begin to scratch the surface of how crazy I am. I like what I like I guess lol. Hopefully that was the kind of OCDish you were lookin for.

*Chrome knobs- black or plastic look like toys.
*Chrome hardware, unless it's an Alembic or a Warwick.
*Jack is on the face of the instrument.
*I like toggles- I like to see all the controls and what they do. Don't love concentric knobs, but I may put them on my bass, 'cause they're handy and conserve space. A sacrifice...
*Dark wood fingerboards, don't generally dig plastic (Ebonol, etc).
*If there are dots (don't like, but if there are), they need to be centered and be relatively on-center and consistent all the way down the 'board in relation to the strings. That's a big deal.
*Fenders need the skunk stripe. I like the big letters that say "PRECISION BASS" or "JAZZ BASS".
*SG shapes are my fav, just because.
*Dark figured woods like Walnut, or a cool, slick paint job... solid colors are cool. Don't like too many colors on a bass. It looks confused to me.

It's really hard for me to play or want an instrument without neck binding, body/headstock binding too. Most instruments without it look silly and just dull to me. In general I judge instruments on the same things that make me love Apple products. Every single detail has to be thought out and perfected. The details are the most important part.
