Live Soft Synths & Shaker Tracks -- what do you use

Howdy.

I'm familiar with soft synth recording type programs.

Are there any desinged around live playing?

Thinking something a drummer can trigger etc.

Live by Ableton is pretty much the standard.

I use DP with good success

Can you tap time it?

IF so how do you trigger.

We're going to work up some stuff with padding and shakers.. want to ensure our drummer can real time correct etc.

I know the stuff is out there.. saw a piano bar guy do this a few months back.

Another thing that would be great for this is a sampler.
I use Mach5II. It can read any format , is stand alone, looper, tap tempo, etc... A great Live tool
