Hmmm. Would the aux out be balanced or unbalanced? What about the line out? Balanced or unbalanced?

From what I can read Invalid Link Removed , the aux out are TRS , so it's balanced.Main too are TRS.

Looks like there is a master volume for the aux out too.

I really like the system we use with our trio. It's as simple as can be.

Mackie ProFX-12 or ProFX-16, depending on number playing
(2) JBL PRX612M mains - 36 pounds each
(2) JBL PRX512M monitors - 40 pounds each

That's it. No stage amps.

Instrument inputs come from Sansamp Acoustic DI or Radial J48. The PRX seakers sound great and have excellent bass response.

This is a 20-minute setup and 15-minute tear-down.

In my previous band, the PA was:

(2) EAW JFX 590 mains - 80 lbs each
(2) EAW SBX 220 subs - 105 lbs each
(4) Cerwin Vega 12-inch monitors
(2) QSC PLX-2402 - one for each sub
QSC PLX 3402 for the mains
QSC PLX 1602 for the monitors
6-space effects rack

For outdoor gigs, the mains were JBL MR835s, subs were MR818s.

Then we had a full backline. My rig was typically:

Aguilar DB750 - 50 pounds in rack
Aguilar GS 410 - 95 pounds

In my current classic rock band, the drummer owns and hauls the PA. My rig is usually a Shuttle 9.0 (4 pounds) and Berg AE212 (55 pounds). I'm just getting too old to haul heavy gear around. I still have the Aguilar rig, but have gotten rid of my heavy Eden and Glockenklang rigs.

Either I had it connected wrong or the Auxiliary out is bad. I'm going to try it again and will see for sure. We had 2.5 hours to set up and sound check so I thought I had plenty of time to troubleshoot.

Munji, do you use an acoustic drum kit? With or without a shield? IEM for some folks or just the 2 monitors? I've found that our wedges sound like crap with a bass, and the acoustic drum kit tends to generate volume wars even behind a shield.

This is regarding the 6-piece classic rock band.

The drum kit depends on the venue. The drummer brings an electronic kit to small venues, and an acoustic kit where there's enough room on stage. No shield. We use four 12-inch monitor cabs, no IEMs. Our drummer isn't exceptionally loud. We usually mic the kick, snare and one or two overheads.

I have them put very little bass in the monitors, and rely primarily on my stage amp for that. I have them put some bass in the mains and sub.

God I hate wireless!

I put my alarm at 4Am to wake up to hate them some more.


I did TV shows , and did a lot of theatrical shows with "mega" racks of wireless and there is always wrong with these &*%@%#.
Even with a guy hired to run them with the oscilloscope and software and everything , there always something going wrong.
But alas , a necessary evil on these shows.

Did a TV show couple of years ago , the patch was 105 inputs , with 39 WL mikes and 22 stereo IEM WL mixes.
A nightmare.
The good thing is that it creates jobs.
