Living on a lighted stage...

There's a story I heard way back in the day that Lou Reed was prepping for a European tour and he was running out of money and still needed to figure out a lighting scheme. He was out with Bowie one night and brought up his problem. Bowie said simple -- just a few powerful searchlights in front of the stage.

Apparently Reed was very happy with the solution and after the tour he sought Bowie out and told him how well that had worked and asked where he got the idea. Bowie told him Joseph Goebbels -- Nuremberg Rallies.

Well, I see you standin' there
With your finger in the air
Everything we do, you wanna leave it up to you

Who do you think you are?
You think you are a star?
Tryin' to run the town
Always tryin' to put us down

Well, you think that you're right
You think you're out of sight
Tell me something, mister
Why'd you have to make us so uptight?
