---LMII--- ---HELP---

i picked up a LMII the other day & i need a simple question answewed,,, but the lead in is a little long,, so here go's..

i have a fender rumble25 practice amp that i previously modded with one of Dave Avatar's 10" NEO. ( sounds sweet ). and while it was opened up i installed a 1/4 " jack in the back & also a spdt switch to isolate the speaker from the fender amp. the great thing about this amp is that it has an effects send & return + a headphone jack for " silent " practice. ( do you see where this question is leading ? )

i'm running the LMII into the 1/4" jack on the fender, flipping the switch to isolate the fender amp from the speaker, ( the fender amp isn't even powered up ) & viola,, this little rig is like the perfect little thing for an appartment, ( or bedroom )... and finally the question.

to run this little rig in the silent mode,, can i SAFELY run the LMII as a pre only," without running a speaker load "out of it, into the return on the fender, so i can use the rig with the headphones only ? without damaging the LMII in any way ?

I've run my LMII with the DI output only, all night long, gig after gig. I would think it's fine to run the LMII as a pre only with no speaker load. I've been doing it week after week for about 6 weeks now. Gary

Yeah you can run it witout having to worry , since it is not an all tube amp.

thanks guys for your imput. i just ran it in silent mode for a few min. & this thing sounds amazing thu the headphones.

this LMII is voiced totally different than the SD800,,, but i likey, i likey....

I've got a Peavey GrindBXPNTB4 that i heavily modded, ( pulled out pickups & pots, re-routed the wood between the two stock pickup holes, picked up a set of Carey Nordstrand Fat Stax/coil tap & mounted them side by side in the bridge position & filled in the rest,& DR Fat Beams, this thing is now a tone monster.... smooth,, deep,, organic tone with absolutely no booming,,, or a quick little adjustment on the LMII,, it's a total slap machine. ( i even grab the Peavey before grabbing my HHBONGO or MTD. )

i get to run the LMII tonite & tomorrow at rehearsal,, i'm looking foreward to it

I did a gig with output only and had no problems at all. Had the nice grit that my LMKII gives me, and enough bottom to keep the groove going.

Dont forget guys, you only get the EQ output through the XLR.
