Log Bass on eBay

Hi everyone, I am here.

I am the guy who built the log bass (with a lot of help from a friend!)

And we had a LOT of fun working on it. Most people who have picked it up and played it were impressed by the playability as well as the tone.

And of course, every time we pull it out of a bag peoples eyes seem to light up when they see it.

Except for here in the Talk Bass forum it seems. But that's cool.

So my question then is:

What exactly is is that you hate so much about it?

Is it the actual bass?

The log?

The bark?

Or is it the price?

Call the Log Lady! She could play it. (and tell you what it was saying) :D

Sometimes, the TB crowd is a tough nut to crack...maybe your price is a little high for a log...maybe you could post some sound clips or a video of the log?

I kinda like how it looks around the pickup/bridge area - but I think your asking price is just too high. I think someone here said they'd pay $200 for it. I dunno, just a thought.

well, as the co-creator of the log bass ONE i'm just trying to find out what exactly is so offensive about it, is it the bass itself, or is it just the price tag?

it's been suggested that i move the decimal point, so the price would be a around $100. but after all, it is an original piece of art/ instrument and quite unique at that. it is quite playable as such, and has a great tone, if you looked at the pictures you'd see the amount of work that went into it.

i am working on number TWO now, much more refined that the original, and i'm thinking about building a few LOG guitars as well ... but it all takes time, parts and shop hours ...
