Logic Live Loops + MainStage

Hi,

I'm very very very new to Logic so I don't know if this is a dumb question or if I'm going about this the wrong way.

I have a few keyboard patches setup in MainStage that I'm using with a Keith McMillen 12 Step. Some of them are arpeggiated and rhythmic. Is there a way to use drum beats and samples in Logic Live Loops and have them time synced with the arpeggios in MainStage?

I know I could probably setup all the same keyboard patches inside Logic, but I really like the MainStage interface and how it visually scrolls through the patches. Am I complicating things? Should I just cut MainStage out of the equation?

It depends on what controls you need. Mainstage is designed for live use so it’s a good start. I’ve used both with success.
I think you can do what you are wanting
You can definitely import audio loops and tracks into Mainstage. Are you wanting to be able to change the loops tempo inside of Mainstage or import loops at certain tempo that a Mainstage scene is already set at and just have them line up ?

I probably did a bad job of asking my question in my OP. So I'll try to do a better job.

I was playing around with the demo in the Session View section of Logic, switching scenes and toggling individual clips. It's fun!

I already use MainStage combined with my Keith McMillen 12 Step and I love how the user interface allows me to scroll through the sounds I set up. It's very intuitive and easy to navigate at a glance. I love it!

When I tried to use them both at the same time, the time-based arpeggiator patches in MainStage didn't sync up with the timing of the Session View clips.

So is there a way to sync MainStage and clips in Session View? I believe this would be called "midi-syncing." Or should I just cut MainStage out of the picture and setup those same keyboard sounds in Logic?

I poked around online and saw something about setting up a AIC driver. Would this sync the timing up between the two?

Again, I'm VERY new to Logic so this might be a dumb question. Forgive me if I called something by the wrong name.

Hmmm I haven’t used that newer feature on Logic Pro much so I don’t know , I kinda don’t think so unless there’s a plugin or some feature built into Mainstage for that which I don’t think there is. Sounds like that would be a good update.
I think you may be better off just going with Logic Pro which I’ve had great success with live as long as you dial in your session, only what you need, no super CPU heavy / latency inducing plugins. Etc
