Long or Extra Long Scale Strings..

Any experts on which scale length for this bass would best fit? I'm buying Fodera strings but seems like could go either way Long Scale or Extra Long Scale according to the measurements yah?

Anything with at least a 37" winding

Most all except for elixir, sfarzo and GHS long scale will fit.

There is a fitment chart on the technical resources page on our site.

Well good to know, I was told only go super extra long for Diaddario though..

in MY case, Fodera says 37.5 and God help me that that covers my Roscoe LC Custom...

It appears as though D'Addario changed the winding length for their "long scale" from 36.25" to 37.1" fairly recently.

Yes. It was changed a while ago. Anything in the new packaging will have the longer winding length.

I have seen some of the older winding length sets still for sale but they would be a couple of years old by now and in the old style packaging.

I had those two sets of 170's for a while, bought used (but new in package) from the classifieds. A newer set of 220's worked before that. Thanks for the info, it was somewhat confusing but now makes sense. What was also confusing was they fit an older Ibanez btb 35 inch scale but not the roscoe.
