Long Scale Flats w/ Light Blue Silks

I just poured through the silk end threads here and have been looking online, but didn't come across any flats that are long scale with light blue silk ends. Does anyone know if there are any out there, or am I chasing a unicorn? Or, more than likely, are there any that I overlooked? Cheers!

The most recent version of Ernie Ball Stainless Steel Flats (not Cobalt) come with a lighter shade of blue silk than they used to.

Are you trying to ID what you have, or are you simply looking for flats with a specific color of silk?

Are there silks at the ball end? If so, I'd say LaBella's. The silks are pretty close to my 760FM DTB set.

Thanks so much michael_t, master of all things strings! Not ID'ing, just looking for something to match a pelham blue Jack Casady. I'll probably give the EB's a go. You steered me right with some Fender 9050's to match a surf green P a while ago, I love the them! I'm so new to flats I'll try whatever lol.

Just make sure they're the EB stainless steel flats (aka "Group Flats") and not the Cobalt flats (aka "Slinky Flatwound").

You steered me right with some Fender 9050's to match a surf green P a while ago, I love the them!

I would put the EB SS Flats in the same category as the Fender 9050s - a good middle-of-the-road all-purpose flats that are not too old-school or too bright and roundwound-like. They also have a manageable medium tension/stiffness without being too stiff or too flexible.

Indeed. If only EB would make enlightened more balanced string gauges for their sets, instead of having a D string that has so much more tension than the rest of a set, which takes a lot of bandwidth to explain why that was done in the first place.

Chromes have bright/deep blue silks. The Ernie Ball Group flats have pale blue silks. Very nice strings, by the way—not dissimilar to Chromes.

These are D’Addario chromes. Also identifiable by colored ball ends. Not sure if this helps.

There are two versions of the same photo attached - in one I enhanced exposure a bit so you could see the color more clearly.

Yes. I do occasionally. I also did it for over 20 years for GHS Progressives 45-60-80-105, starting from the early 1990's when it was the new string and decades before anybody thought about "balanced tension sets."

I was just exchanging emails with Jason at Fret Nation about putting together a custom set of the EB SS Flats, 40-55-75-95, vs. the factory set, 40-60-70-95.
