Long-string instruments...any body ever build one?

This is iteration 2 of the Long String Instrument, known as MX-1, because I was, and still am, an experimental aircraft nerd, and I like names with Xs in them for some reason. I put a Seymour Duncan Hot Rails at the other end of the string, near the "nut" if you will, and ran that to a separate amplifier. I used 3 inch cabinet screws, set about a quarter-inch into the wood of the "nut" to hold the blocks of plywood with the pickup on. Probably going to do the same thing for the bass pickup, too, once I get a better wiring solution figured out for that one.
I haven't had much time to go the warehouse and play this week, due to work and stuff. And I'll be out of town this weekend, too. So I won't be able to mess around with it this weekend...:(

Also, Slow Mo vid, just because:
