Just got a Samick Royale Bass, and was thinking of putting some T.I. flats on it that I had. But due to its stop tailpiece, they don't QUITE fit...the E string has maybe a quarter inch of silk over the nut. The metal wraps seem to go over fine though. Would there be a downside on just cutting away the silks a bit on that string? I can't imagine any myself. Any insights appreciated!!
