I found that wiping them down with alcohol a few times got rid of the sticky feeling on the 2 sets that felt sticky.

Ive had a set on my P bass for over 12 months and they have mellowed (slightly) into a perfect tone. Not muddy at all but did lose a bit of growl. They’re exactly what I was looking for. I had the stickiness for the first week or so but it wore off pretty quickly. IIRC I used some fast fret, as mentioned above, to help. They’re staying on that bass until they break or go dead.

Mine, round are still good and after two months of use not rough
