Longtime guitar player, newish to bass

Hi all,

I’ve been playing guitar for about 25 years but discovered over the past year and change that I rather enjoy bass. I’ve come across the forums a number of times while searching for answers to my questions but finally decided to create an account say hello.

I came to bass by way of a Bass VI first. As much for post-punk as McCartney. Though, like Kevin Parker of Tame Impala, I did also get the Beatles starter pack with a Hofner HCT a couple months ago. Recently bought a soldering iron and successfully installed the German electronics in my Hofner, and was able to file the German vintage pearl pickguard to fit properly as well. Went to work on the Bass VI next. That’s been a steeper learning curve. I replaced the pots, put Jaguar ‘65 AVRI pickups in, and new switches and caps. I screwed something up with the strangle switch because when engaged it cuts out. I also wired the volume to work backwards

Anyway, looking forward to continuing my bass journey with y’all.
