Some of you know I had been auditioning over the last 2 months after my band broke up. I love being on stage, I love all aspects of the live performance. Maybe to much.
After several rejections I got an offer from a solid band with sponsorship. So, my search was over, I accepted the offer, everything is good, right? Wrong, something didnt feel right.
It suddenly hit me, it was 1.5 hour commute one way and I would be required with 2 rehearsals every week. Plus these guys had all these different drop tuning requirements, that would be challenging for me. I knew I had made a mistake.
I asked my teacher how I could get out of it without ticking them off. He asked How much time have they invested in you? I said, just the one audition. He said call them and tell them things at work changed and your going to have to travel and that you have to back out.
It worked and they thanked me for my honesty. The lesson here, if your impulsive like me, really sit back and take more time before you accept an offer.
Comments, anyone just have someone just stop showing up and just bail with no notice.
