...allow me- Sadowsky Tokyo. HAPPENING Bass!
I have my friend's NYC here for a couple of days, fantastic bass, and I think the Tokyo suits me even better. Several reasons why i like the Tokyo:
1. Handcrafted by the same guy that makes the Metros
2. Full size body
3. Blocks and binding, LOVE IT.
4. This one is LIGHT! 8.5 lbs or so
5. Single coil pups really growl
6. Preamp has treble boost and cut , so I don't really need the VTC so
much
This one is mint and sounds awesome. After i spent a bit of time lowerng the action a bit between tunes at a rehearsal today, it plays like butta. Even through our headphones ( no amps in the theater show ) the guys and girls in the band were telling me the bass sounded great. I noticed ;)
Then tonight I took it on a Latin gig poolside at Mandalay Bay.
Performed beautifully in spite of a not so great provided backline bass rig.
Felt like i had been playing it for years, no hassle adjusting.
The bass has a definite " Marcus vibe " and not just slapped. When I dig in fingerstyle is gives a very nice bark/growl with lots of booty.
I am a happy camper with this J style bass and now must sell my beloved Fender American Deluxe to make up some of the $ -
so, Mikebass, Tommixx, Bikeplate, Major Metal, Burk , etc...
can I come in the clubhouse now? Does a Tokyo count?

Beautiful Bass! Didn't you used to have a Tokyo 5 though?

The following has been posted in another thread by Ken Smith (Ken Smith Basses):
Korea VS Japan VS USA..

USA: Insurance, Workmans comp, Medical and other Employee benifits, EPA. Osha, etc etc etc.. Then there are the work ethics of the average american worker.. Not so good.. I know!

Korea is geared up for high volume production. We offer to pay extra for quality issues and better componants. It's an uphill battle.

Japan does lower quantity production and has a bit of pride in their work without many of the government and business restrictions and expences that we have in USA. The Japanese also have a better work ethic on the whole so they are more efficent."
