I scored the deal of a lifetime when I signed for a very small check (luckily, nobody was bidding) for this gem!

She's a 1971, all original from what I've researched. (needless to say I am ecstatic, this is one of my all-time dream basses that I never thought I would reallly score)

Wrong forum, but nice score. I don't think I've seen one with that headstock before.

The slotted headstocks were made for (I think) only 3 or 4 years, so there's a gem within a gem.

I posted here in misc. because I didn't think that it would be very contributive to the actual bass forum itself, I'm just totally stoked about it and wanted to show it off to you fine people.

I wasn't even going to bother bidding on it because I "knew" someone had it locked at $1000+, but my girlfriend was insistant on me keeping up with the auction "just to see". Low-n-behold I placed a $650 max bid and I won at $561!

long scale , same headstock , with angled back tuners and same color ...

{ i eventually traded it for a 75' Jazz Bass ...}

I think I'm gonna call her "Cherry" (I know, lame) because of the color. Funny thing is, I hate the color red, but these things are beautiful.
