Looking for a beater - Rockbass o.k.?

I'm looking for a beater to take to gigs where I don't want to take one of my good basses, but that still sounds okay.

I've got a chance at a new Rockbass Streamer 5 real cheap, and before I make the trip to check it out, I thought I'd ask here for people's experiences with 'em.

Just sharing: the following is strictly my own experience. I bought a Rockbass 4-string for pretty much the same reasons. The electronics died on me after a few months, the volume pot jammed and stopped functioning and I've met a few owners - like myself - who found the jack comes loose very easily after a few weeks of plugging your instrument cable in and out. These problems are not unfixable but well, I've played cheaper basses (and Rockbasses are fairly affordable) that have lasted longer and sounds better.

i bought my Warwick Rockbass probably 3 years ago. When i got it, the bass was awesome, maybe because i had not played any other bass besides a Peavey Fury, but 5 string Rockbass rocked. I play gospel and a lot of Hillsong and it played wonders. Have not had any problems with it ever. Not one single problem. Pick-ups knobs, everything flawless. I loved it. I went to Houston for Instituto Canzion and my teacher was Rankin Peters from Lakewood Church in Houston TX. Maybe he was being honest or maybe he did not want to tell me that i had a crappy bass compared to his, which i dont remember what brand or what kind it was, but he said it sounded good and it had a nice tone to it, especially the B-string. I was like, really..well i got it for like 300 something and it does its job well. The next day Rankin said he went to try out some basses and played a bass like mine and said that none of them sounded anything like my Rockbass. Maybe he was serious or maybe he wasnt, but i felt good for having a Rockbass. But i cant say that now that i have a Stingray 5.
