Double Bass Looking for a decent metal EUB

So I've been searching around, and on talkbass, and I've found little to no information on a say, Primus like sound.
My band is covering some Primus, and we've looked into the metal/funk/rock sound a bowed EUB can provide. Sounds amazing really, and we likey.

So I have a couple of questions:
What brands would you recommend?
What action/strings would you recommend?
I realize that to play an EUB arco it requires special pickups, so which would I require and which would you recommend?

I usually don't ask for help, but I can't find anything conclusive. Just not popular I guess?

And I will be renting a DB first to experiment.

You won't get a thump hammered sound out of a double bass, acoustic or electric. So funk is limited to rhythmic patterns, not bass guitar funk sound. Plucking below the end of the fingerboard helps, but needs cleaning of strings before you use the bow.

A piezo not too close to the strings (many are under the foot of the bridge) are good for bowing. If it gets really loud, a lot like a magnetic pickup for blending in too. Also a solid body EUB helps to avoid feedback. (Some EUBs with a resonant body would work too, but not all.)

If you want a magnetic pickup too, you want a string with a steel core. For a bright string you may want to use Thomastik Spirocore. They also have lots of life in them. Mittel is good, will have the best sound for your style, but has some tension. Weich has less tension (a lot of players use a Mittel E with them) and downtuned Solo strings are popular for people who like less tension (i.e. bass guitar players who are used to lower tension strings compared to double bass strings). For Spirocore Mittel you might want a lower action, for Weich and downtuned Solos a bit higher up to middle action.

For metal/rock you want some overdrive pedal, also a volume pedal. Perhaps a little reverb and other effects (i.e. wahwah). You need get used to all that stuff and it wouldn't be cheap.

I think you need to look deeper inside the talkbass archives until you know what you may want.
