Looking for a fuzz pedal which can also do light fuzz

The Pork Loin is my favorite go-to OD tone ever. Get one, mod it (single cap mod), rock it. Works in pretty much any situation I would ever need. Are there other tones I prefer in certain situations - of course. Will the Pork Loin sound great in those same situations? Definitely.

Sometimes I think I keep too much dirt on my board. But then I'll try to take some off and it just goes right back on the next day haha. I like having the options.

Mind you, I'm not saying it's a bad pedal. Tons of people would (and do) love the tones from it. Just not what I need. Still, I will soldier on and give it a few more goes. 1st world problems and all.

Yes. Me too. But I've also been so happy with dirt over the last 6 months or so, I haven't really wanted anything else. Sure, there's things that spark my interest. Like the MBD1. But I'm always broke nowadays and it takes a lot for me to make stuff like that happen. But man does it look rad. The carcosa was an easy call because I needed one more crazy fuzz and well, it's DOD. Hello.....

I play mostly my Rickenbacker 4003SW with a very light touch through a Mesa Walkabout Scout 15'' and, though I really dig the tone, I find that on some heavier tunes it could benefit from a light fuzz. As for budget, I prefer to spend a little more to get something really good rather than take the cheap route and upgrade later.

I found some threads about similar questions but they were pretty old. Any advise/opinion is much appreciated! ;)

i know you went with the pork loin but when you decide it doesn't work i recommend these :)

1. oxfuzz bass fuzz
2. Fender Sublime
3. Earthbound Supercollider v2.


these 3 all do a mild fuzz sound really well. check youtube for some clips. the oxfuzz sounds kind of crappy on its own sometimes but it shines in a band mix.
