Looking for a load box that can handle a high powered amp!

Hey everyone!

I’m going to record at home and looking for ways without having to mic up my amp. I’m currently playing with a markbass ta 501(600watts) and a 6x10 cab. I want to record DI maybe with a load box but looking for one that can handle my power. Can anyone give me ideas on how to accomplish this?

To my knowledge there are no load boxes that will handle 600 watts. That said, if you keep the output low enough on the amp it won't be putting out anywhere near 600 watts. That said, the power amp in that particular amp isn't likely doing much to the signal path. Why not just use the DI from the amp or even just plug directly into your recording interface?

Isn't the power amp of the Markbass TA 501 a solid state design? Those usually don't even need a load connected (except for some very rare designs like McIntosh hifi amps), so you could just connect the Line Out (even has its own volume control) and call it a day.

But to be sure check the manual before you do something stupid on account of some strangers opinion on the Interwebs:
