Looking for a new amp

Hey, I need some suggestions for a new bass amp seeing as my practice amp crapped out a little while ago and I want to start gigging soon. I play mostly jazz and progressive rock and my current bass is a Yamaha TRBJP2. I am also on a budget of $1500 Canadian so I don't want people suggesting any $2000 Mark Bass heads lol. Right now I am looking at the Genz Benz Shuttle 600w and matching 2x12 cab which runs for about $1400. Any help would be appreciated.

Cheapest reliable low cost amps --fender bassman 150--- or the peavey line. Afordable & lets you play while saving up for the rig you really want. That will get you started.

this is a great suggestion. LH 1000 is probably all the head you'd ever need.

the genz benz shutle 6.0 is a great head, although I think the shuttle max is better, IMO. Markbass LMKIII is also a pretty good choice, I think.

+1 on the Fender Bassman 150, I have a Fender Pro Head (too much $$$) but from their combo's on up I have not heard any bad reviews...

I always recommend Gallien and Krueger. I bought a 1001RB and a 410SBX+ a few years ago for under $1,200USD new (I'm sure you could do the 700RB within your budget). Since then I've sold the 1001 and bought a Mesa 400+ but I've yet to find a cab I like better than the GK.
