What I really want is an Acme Lo-B cab. But that's a little pricy for me right now. Especially because I would still need to buy a power amp for it.
So, I'm wondering if there's a combo amp I can get in the mean time that will sound better than my $70 15-watt RMS amp but is cheap enough that I can afford it in the near future.
My budget: Well, if it's more than $400, I may as well just wait and get the Acme. So let's say $0-$350 for my budget.
As far as my volume needs, I want something I can use as a monitor in a band context. I asked before and I think something in the 50-100 watt range should do the job. I'd be competing with a mic'd drum kit (caged, so the stage volume isn't that bad). This amp wouldn't be part of the sound reinforcement, in fact, if the audience can hear it, that's a bad sign. I like the audience to hear me purely through the PA.
It should have decent low-end response. I use a 5-string sometimes so something that can handle the Low-B string.
It should be small enough that I can tilt it back. Which I guess technically you could do that even with an 18" cab, but I'd rather not have anything bigger than a 15" speaker.
Any suggestions?
