Looking for a new combo

But you gotta look at it like an investment. Limited quantity, hand made, historical replica. Seems worth it if you can wing it!

Absolutely agree...if I were wealthy, I'd have one without a doubt...although in my mind, I'd rather "invest" that imaginary money into a vintage instrument...

For the normal working class, weekend warrior it's BEYOND out of reach

IMO

Sorry guys I definitely meant the hybrid style amps (/face palm)... But now that you guys are pointing it out, the swr redhead looks pretty sweet!

I don't wanna sound biased. But when I was in the market for a combo, i tried the redhead, the high end Fender 210C, gallien krueger 210 and 212, and the markbass 210. Redhead won for me, although they were all great. The redhead has great tone and a ton of volume. The rack space and front cover are a plus as well. Especially if you're a weekend warrior like me!

I'd actually like to check out an Anniversary Redhead...

Funny story about mine...I'd guess that I purchased an original Redhead in the early '90's and used it for a few gigs but wasn't much of a fan...didn't seem loud enough compared to my SM400 and Goliath 4x10

I got into a discussion at a music store that I worked at with a father of a customer of ours that was enrolled in a group music class...over the weeks, we became friendly and he showed interest in purchasing my Redhead...which he did wind up buying.

A few years later, Euphonics Audio was born...I sold my SWR Redhead to Larry Ullman :-)

That's crazy! Mine is an anniversary redhead. Post-fender. I've never heard the pre-fender redhead or super redhead but I've read they don't really compare to the new ones.

I'd you REALLY wanted a portable 300-watt all-tube combo, you could buy a Peavey VB-3 and a couple neo speakers and have them built into a custom combo.

Cost would be upward of $2000, but it would be seriously bada$$.

Maybe Peavey should roll with the idea of a VB-3C and give me "consulting designer" credit! I'd accept a prototype as payment.

Bobby Baldwin, you out there?!?!

You should try contacting them. That would be kinda cool!

My experience with Mesa has been BAD. Paid 2k for a Walkabout 15, a total lemon. Lousy, lousy customer service at Mesa. And, frankly, these amps are powerful but I don't get the tone people are always raving about.

I like what I've heard from GK's MB212 and MB115. Powerful with four-band EQ, and super lightweight. And priced under $600. What's everyone's experience with those?

I played the 212 and 210 and loved them both! There was just something about the redhead that won my heart. For the price, the weight, and power you really can't beat the MB combos!
