Looking For A New Head

Here's the deal...
I currently have a Genz Benz 2x10 and a
Behringer BX4500H (yeah, I know).
What head would y'all recommend that would be better
with my 2x10 cab? I'm looking for more solid lows, bottom, etc. I'm looking in the $400-$500 range or lower.
thanks!

oh yeah, I'm a blues player.

G-K MB series, used 400RB, used GenzBenz head, Ampeg PF 500 or 350.

+1

Or go pre/power and get a Peavey IPR1600 + preamp of your choice.

The choices are endless. Mayhap 'twould help if you could narrow down what you are looking for. I know that's tough though. And if you want more solid lows/bottom, you might want to consider another cab, perhaps another 2x10.

...then you could have a dual 2x10 vertical stack! :bassist:

Don’t laugh at the Behringer, if you’re lacking bottom end it’s because you need more cabs. I have that head (backup to my Carvin) and I have no complaints at all. It drives my two cabs nicely and can actually overpower them with the DEEP switch.
It’s always good to have two heads though so (in your price range) I would recommend either the Carvin BX500 or the Ampeg PF-500. They both cost around 400 dollars (brand new) and sound great with loads of power and features. I prefer them straight up over the GK MB500 even though they cost less.
If you only want to haul one cab, consider selling the 210 and go for an Avatar TB153, a 15” 3-way cab (4 ohm version). This would make a big difference right off, even with the Behringer head.
Your best bet may be to sell the whole rig and buy the Avatar TB153 and the Ampeg or Carvin. If you can get 400 bucks for your current rig, you should be near your budget of 500 dollars and your sound would be killer.
