I am looking for a small combo 100 watt bass amp to use in my home and recording studio. The two amps I am considering are the Fender Rumble and the Acoustic. In the big picture, Fender clearly has a respected name with both guitars and amps and has for years. Acoustic is a company that went out of business a while back and was bought by Guitar Center. Just about every guitar center I have been to pushes the Acoustic brand name because it's owned by their own company so I really don't trust their opinions because they are slanted one way. What I do know is that the new Fender rumble has a 12 inch speaker and the Acoustic has a 15 inch speaker. In my opinion the Acoustic amp seems to have a more of a higher quality look to it but the rumble seems to offer more tone choices.
I am a life long guitar player that finally bought a bass to use for recording purposes so the bass world, as far as the best choices in amp, is new to me. I can alway make a decision on sound alone but I wanted to find out from experienced bass players if there is something that I need to know about as far as overall quality. Both amps cost $300.00
All comments and suggestions are welcomed. Thank you.. Bob
