Looking for a pedal...

I am in the market for a distortion pedal, and have it down to two choices. The EH Metal Muff, and the Tech 21 sansamp 3 channel jobber. I like the price tag on the metal muff, but the idea of having 3 distortions at my toes is also a plus. Anyone with experiece on either of these, or a better solution i may not have concidered, please feel free to chime in and help spent my hard earned duckets (sorry, that word is just stuck in my head right now) All in all ,the decision will come down to which produces a better sound for metal (crisp, crunchy distortion) Let me know and soon if possible, a new Guitar Center is opening tonight and I'd like to reap he "Grand Opening" sale goodness.

Hi man,
The two you mention are very very different, total apples and oranges. Do some searching in this forum, because we talk about distortions and Sansamps all the time. There's even a "distortion reviews" thread.

-The Metal Muff might be more of what you're looking for.
-At a lower price, try out the Boss and Guyatone pedals.
-I know the rappers and kids spell it "duckets", but the proper spelling is "ducats". ;)
Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. Decided not to be lazy, searched the board, went to the manufacturer sites, found some audio clips and decided on the metal muff. Top boost as i understand it will be like having another distortion, so it will be like the three channel anyway (distortion - DISTORTION - bypass/clean) so for 100 less this is my choice. Thanks for the input anyhow. g'night

I really do not concider the Tech 21 a distortion. It adds some grind, but by no means would I ever use one as a dedicated distortion unit. The only sounds I ever got out of it I liked were in conjucntion with other gain pedals. Deffinatly try one out before you decide.
