Looking for a rack today to put my pre and poweramp into. The pre has the power switch on the back, the poweramp has it on the front. What would YOU use? Leave it all on and get a multi-switch unit? Some kind of open rack thing?
I really hate rack gear that puts the on/off switch on the back...
If you have an open space you could get a power conditioner plug everything into it and use the on/off of the power conditioner.
You can also get individual sockets, and put an inline switch on each of the, placing the switches on the front.
But seeing that the poweramp already has the switch on the front, turn on the power conditioner (or powerstrip) first, and then turn on the power amp. Problem solved.
