Looking for advice- 2x10 cab

Mini mega 1000
Its 1000watts at 4ohms, but it doesn't seem they published 8ohm specs. 8ohm specs seem to usually be close to 50/60%, so probably closer to 500watts.

Is there a specific reason you're looking for a 2x10, and not a 2x12, or even 2 1x10's/2 1x12's (whih would drop you down to 4 ohms to get closer to using the full power of your amp)?

Which

It's only rated to handle 500 watts though.
Doubt whether that would be an issue, the Two 10 is pretty sensitive and realistically he won't be putting anywhere near the full 1000 watts into it and electrically it is actually closer to six ohms than four (although that is another whole debate that is better left alone). Basically the Peavey will give him headroom but if you seriously want to use a genuine 1000 watts then a 212 or 410 is probably a better way to go I would think.

I have used an SWR goliath jr for about 25 years with all kinds of heads and power and never had an issue playing at a sane volume level. That was only rated for 350w rms. It is currently my usual big rig. I used it for quite a while with a 1000w power amp. I usually play with no FOH in small to medium bars. The only gig it could not cover was a loud rock gig against Marshalls. I ended up passing on that one anyways.

I have a 1000w amp head and I'd like to get a 2x10 cab that would pair well with it. I'd like something deep, tight and punchy.

What do you recommend?

Mini mega 1000

I hate to say it, but I recommend not using the Rumble 210 with that Peavey Mini Mega 1000. I read that this amp is 1,000W continuous at 4 ohms and, I suspect, 500-600W at 8 ohms. That cab is rated 350W continuous at 8 ohms on paper, although it can obviously handle the 400W continuous in the Rumble Stage 800 combo since those are the same speakers. Not a good match in my book.

Yeah, if you keep the volume down on the amp it should be fine, even with a lesser cab. But, do you really wanna be constantly distracted with that limitation?

I recommend a higher power rated cab for that head or a 800W amp, or less, for that cab.
