So, another post just helped me make up my mind that I probably should not buy an AI Contra. Sad. But maybe you all can give me some other ideas.
Right now I have a Scout 12. When I quit my last band I downgraded to this from an M-Pulse 600, 4X10 Powerhouse, & 1X15 Powerhouse. Needless to say, I love Mesa Boogie! LOVE IT! The Scout is abso-freaking-lutely amazing. Loud, deep, and sounds like heaven! It is all I will ever need for practice, small gigs, and to hear myself on a large P.A. backed stage. Best thing, I can carry it with one hand! (Ive got my entire rig right here carry your own damn drums!)
So, the dilemma I am faced with. I just recently traded a myriad of pedals for a Line6 X3 Live. I love it as much as I love my Scout. Heck, I can even sound just like my Scout with the California setup. Problem is, now I realize I can also sound like a Flip-Top, or an Eden, or a vintage Plexi too. But not while piping it through the Scout. Lets say the Scout is Red, and a Flip-Top is Blue Add the two and what do you get? Purple. Blah!
What can I get that will not color the tone from the X3, but is compact (preferably a combo) and loud and deep like my Scout? Apparently the AI wont give me the volume I would want. I was looking at the new JBL EOS powered P.A. cabs any better thoughts?
