Looking for fender A/E semi hollow precision bass

I am looking at buying one currently. It does not have the logo. I see online many do not have the logo. Clearly I am missing something.

Maybe it is an import/export thing. I buy all my basses directly from Japan and all that I have looked at buying that are currently in Japan do not have the logo.

I know they did export them as my client has one she has owned since new and purchased it from Long and McQuade in the Toronto area in Ontario.

Village, I think the bass you’re looking at in all right! I may have solved this…Both A/E’s I owned (now only have the one Natural fretted) had the “A/E” on the headstock…however…I was incorrect! I checked my

old Fender literature I have from the 1990s… one is a Fender Frontline Magazine from Summer 1994, other is 1993 colour poster. The poster photo of the A/E has the large “70s Fender” logo on the headstock. So it appears that is legit! I scanned them for you, hope this helps.

Hello all. I'm a new guy here and quite new to the beautiful world of electric bass, I'm looking to find a fender A/E precision bass as in the picture below. It's a semi hollow body produced by Fender Japan in the early 90s, with fret-board and p pickups. looks like is quite rare thou, anyhow I'm looking for a second hand to buy and play it! thanks

If you are set on "Fender" I'd suggest Coronado too. You can see Dario Deidda on YouTube playing It exquisitely.

I know these are getting a lot of bad raps but I have a mint sunburst 89 fretless that I bought 15 years ago I absolutely love.
The piezo was really harsh and I got a woods buffer / preamp that does a fantastic job smoothing it out. I play tape wrapped round wounds and various amplifiers depending on the gig. My current go to is either a Phil Jones session 77 with a Baggs preamp to give me a balanced DI out to FOH (the only thing I don't like about the Phil Jones is a 1/4" out only) or an Ampeg PF50 and a Mark Bass 2x10 standard front ported cabinet. The price on these basses has gotten pretty crazy so they must not be as bad as people say. Most gigs I play it about 1/4 of the time and use a 53 Kay M1 3/4 or a BSX Allegro the rest. The amp set up is great for all and I always get compliments on the sound. I have had zero issues with the p-bass and highly recommend it.
