Looking for inexpensive lined fretless jazz neck

currently "sold out" but keep your eye on these (great necks!):

There are tons of cheap (but seemingly well built) fretless Jazz necks on Ebay, from China.
I undestand if one don't want to buy from there, but unfortunately I think every cheap neck will be Chinese regardless of brand or where you find it.

Example: AAAA Rosewood 4-strings Satin Roasted Flame Maple Fretless Jazz Bass Guitar Neck | eBay

Edit: Ooops, I see now that you want lines. I'm sure there are those too, just not the one in the link.

This man knows both fretless and "build your own".

That's the route I'll take I reckon. I've an old Jazz bass with a broken neck in the attic that would suit one of those. They look great, and at those prices they must be worth a punt.

I'm not so into supporting China's industries.
then pay for a neck that you know is not made in china. mexico is not china. the link i shared with you sells necks made in china.
Also, once I i bought a neck from there via Amazon and wow, it was like kindling with frets.
that's bad/sad news!

FWIW, i bought all of my chinese necks on ebay (cheap) and they've been a dream to play. the first one (6-years-old) is fantastic. all the rest are superb and equal in quality, but they're all unlined fretless necks.

ali express has cheap, lined fretless necks (no experience with that platform/site), but of course they're made in china. at any rate: best of luck! 👍

I have a lined ebony neck from Warmoth I bought 30 years ago, way before their "Super Bass" trussrod system, and it's by far the most stable wood neck I've ever owned. Unfortunately, that comes with a hefty price these days, but a neck is not the place to cheap out on. Lined fretless used to be an option for Allparts necks, not seeing it on their website now though.

I appreciate that, I have several warmoth necks and think they make a great product. I have three problems with them though, they're heavy, they're expensive, and the truss rod heel adjustment. For what I'm doing, its overkill. I'm a very occasional fretless player. Thanks for the suggestion.

I’ve had mine for a few years but did a quick spec on my Warmoth unlined maple on maple fretless neck & it came to $387 @ today’s rate. Definitely not a budget item.
