Looking for info on this bass.

I know it's made in 98-99. I know it's a Fender PJ Bass Special. I just want to know more info on it if anyone can help. I have searched the serial and got minimal information except the fact that they said it was a signature on guitarinsite.nl. So any help would be greatly appreciated. Looking for a few more specs on this bass. Some say it's the MIM version of the California Special. Please see pics below

Is the pickguard original? I have a similar one on my 03 American P, with the intention to give it that 59 P bass look. Possible someone just replaced the pg for the looks?

It is original as far as I am told.
