Looking for information of this bass

Hi guys,
Friend of mine got this bass and he asked if i know sth about this bass (brand, history) but really i can't tell him cause the brandname on its headstock was scratched and wasnt clear enough for me to find the brand. If anybody can help me to get more information about this, i really appreciate. As the seller said, looks like it was made in 1970s or 1980s. Thanks in advance.

Would help if we could read the name on the peghead and the logos on the pickups or anything else along those lines.

Taking a preliminary SWAG (silly wild-ass guess) for now, I'd guess European instead of Far East.

It is an Orfeus, but not the killer real-deal Plovdiv Orfeus. Those have both Orpheus and Plovdiv someplace on the bass, and in Cyrillic script. I've a colleague who grew up in Plovdiv and is very proud of her city. I would love to gift her her a Cyrillic Orpheus although she has absolutely no use for it and her husband would probably break it over my head.

That bass your friend has looks like it's made better than the one from the link, headstock is better looking and the bridge looks a lot better,the one from the link has screws for the strings to change the action, one per each string.

The one from the link is "the real Plovdiv deal" and these were some gawdawful instruments. Speaking from personal experience here.

The bass in the OP might be some form of an "export" version, and definitely from a later date although I would question whether it's actually a Bulgarian-made Orpheus. It does scream Eastern Europe in many respects, but my guess would be more along the lines of East Germany or Czechoslovakia which were capable of churning half-decent instruments at least on occasion back in those days.

My $0.02 only...
