hey tbers im new to the site, and im looking for some insight on what would be a good rig for me, my current bass is a peavey grind 5 string with passive pickups, i play mainly gospel music so a 4 speaker cab would be a must, im torn between the peavey world tour 700 head, the little mark bass III head, and the gk 700 rb, cabinet wise, im very interested in the eden ex410 and ex410lt, the swr working pro 4 x 10 , gk neo 410 , my price range for the head is $300 to $600 and cabinet the same , thanks in advance, and any advice is greatly apreciated

Welcome to TB. :)

Both the Markbass and GK 700RB are fine heads. I'm not familiar with the Peavey Tour amp but based on Peavey quality I'd assume it's a decent amp. For the cabs you listed I'd go with the GK NEO series 410, lots of people here approve of it. Only thing I could suggest is maybe grab a nice OD pedal for more tonal options if you go with the GK head since the GK can be less warm. Maybe a Sansamp or VT Bass.

Buy used and save big bucks and if for some reason you don't like what you purchased you can flip it for little to no loss of money and try something else.

You also have a 2nd thread you started with the same question. No need to post twice as most TB'ers will eventually try to help you out with a response.

I play mostly gospel myself, church and southern quartet style..I rarely have pa support so it's me and my epifani ul2 410 and a bbe max pre/crown power amp..I got all used and got about 800 tied up in it and it does fine..I understand about the 410 cabinet and the need to push air..Go for the neo 10's for portability if possible. The pre/power amp setup will allow you to experiment on your sound for less money. I tried a couple of pedals/pre's before I found one that pretty much covers all the sancturies I am exposed to. Buy used if possible your money goes further..Don't have any experience with your gear list but trust your ears and good luck!

If you're considering a small class D head (like the Markbass), you owe it to yourself to check out the Genz Benz Streamliner series (both models are out of your stated price range new, but I've seen them for less than $600 used).

I was a long time SVT loyalist who scoffed at the new breed of pocket-sized amps...until I played the GB. It's just that good.

I also agree with klokker: 4x10 is the go-to old standard "half-stack," if you will, but now that we're in the neodymium age, smaller cabinet designs have changed so drastically that you can often find a 2x12 or 2x10 (heck, even a few 3x10s) that can more than get the job done.

My advice is and always will be "try lots of stuff out, and go with your gut."

I still don't understand the NEED for a 410 over other options. I have used everything from an 810,610,410,215,(2) 12", and finally (2) 15". While they all had their different tonal characteristics, I couldn't say that ONE was best for gospel.

My current (2) 15 setup is enormous, and it really depends on which CAB you get, and not the size or number of speakers.

Just something to consider.

Since you're a gospel player, I would suggest you try the Peavey Headliner head also, especially if you play lots of slap. The Tour 700 works well for that style, but gospel players seem to like the Headliner better overall.

Haven't played the Eden or Peavy, but I use a Little Mark III and (2) GK Neo 115 cabs. They sound great together! The warm voicing of the Little Mark III pairs great with the hi-mid voiced GK cabs. I am sure a Little Mark and Neo 4x10 would be awesome! I'm sure everything you listed would sound fantastic! Good luck!!
