Looking for Pre amp, DI, Drive box - recomendations

Had a Zoom B3 and loved it, but it did too much and I never utilized everything on it.
I have a Tech21 SansAmp Bass Driver and will never part with it. That being said I have tried the VT bass and liked that, the Aguilar TH and like that too.
The Tech21 SansAmp just has never let me down.

I am a very satisfied Le Bass user. I have heard about noise issues, but I have yet to run into any myself, thought it does seem to depend on what you use as a power supply (Eventide Powerfactor 2 in my case). Plus, since you're mainly using it for home recording, it's worth noting that it comes with 10 free cab licenses for the Torpedo Wall of Sound plugin, if you ever plan on using cab simulation in your recordings.

Since you already use a VMT, if you like the sound from that pedal, I'd definitely look at the Deluxe and Ultra versions as well.

I have a feeling the power source before the adapter will be a big factor as well. Clean power from the mains or a power conditioner may be essential.

I am waiting on the Tech21 Bass Fly Rig, I am hoping it can reduce my footprint.

Hi,

I'm looking for some advice on a preamp pedal / solution.

I'm currently running a Mayones J Bass into a GK MB500 head and a GK 4x10 cabinet.

I'm happy with the general tone this gives me and I'm currently using a Darkglass VMT to add some tube OD and fatness when called for.

however, I'm looking for a pre-amp pedal that also has DI and OD, ideally tube, that I can use for recording in my home studio as well as somethings that will work nicely in front of my head on stage.

From an OD I'm looking for something with a vintage feel for a classic rock band I currently play with. Not necessarily chasing an authentic SVT sound but something in that ball park to warm up my GK amp and give it a more classic rock feel Low noise is a priority and looking to replace my current VMT.

Pedals i've been looking into from other posts on this board and browsing Thomann / Seeet water etc

Darkglass VMT Deluxe

Aguilar Tone Hammer

Various T21 Sans Amp models incl. VT DI, Para DI etc

Two Notes Le Bass

DHA VT-1 STD

Ampeg DI SCR

Any others to consider? Any experiences you could share with me on anything similar?

Thanks

I haven't used it or even seen one in person, but I can tell you that all the LR Baggs (and Fishman for that matter) equipment I use/have used with acoustic guitar is excellent in every regard.

I have nothing to add with regards to availability or price or sound of the LR Baggs other than it looks really cool. The other preamp di I think looks really cool is the GK Plex.

I think there are lot of folks waiting to try one out. I like the tone controls/shaping options on GK amps so I would guess this takes that as a foundation and adds a whole new level of capability in a pedal format. If you are already someone who is familiar with GK products and likes what they do, this would definitely be worth auditioning when it becomes available.

I'm very impressed with Le Bass by Two Notes. Tube!
Clean to Nasty, 2 channels blend knob, ground lift D.I.

I use it as my preamp with a Demeter Minnie 800D or direct in house with strong message monitoring.

Congratulations! One of the guitarists in our band has the original guitar version and it's pretty impressive once you get the hang of it.

Thanks - I really like it so far, but, it's going to take some time to get to know how to use all the different elements together most efficiently - especially the filter section.

The GK hits all of your wants / needs. Hopefully it delivers the goods when it comes out!

I really liked the look of the GK Plex too but I was a bit too impatient to wait for it to be released. Might still have a look into it once it does arrive!!
