Tough call Bill regarding the PG. I don't like em' on my basses unless they are traditional Fender-esque, but that's me.

Question - Do you plan to play her with a pick (or plectrum to the Europeans :cool:)?

That might be the deciding factor; I personally don't like using a pick and prefer no pick guard on the bass, especially if if covers up beautiful crafstmanship. Hope I didn't make your choice more difficult :rollno:

It's funny, you've brought up a few very interesting points.

First, the pickguard is based heavily on my Fender... :D

Second, I do play with a pick, but nowhere near as much as fingerstyle, and I've always thought of pickguards as a style option, never as a protective device, as it'll get beat up anyway, and you have to put a bunch of holes in your bass to fit 'em.
