Loop pedals?

Im thinking of investing in a loop pedal, Im a solo bassist (I do occasional gig work with bands but I prefer being solo, I borrowed a Boss RC-3 from a friend to try) and my question is which loop pedal should I get? Ive been looking around and Im thinking about getting either the Boss RC-30 or the Boomerang III. The only thing that I cant seem to figure out (or maybe I just havent read properly) is with the RC-30, can I say record one loop, dub over that, then dub over that, then dub again, and then play over it all or is it just record and only dub over once? If I can dub over dub over dub, is there a limit to how much I can do?

An example of what I mean: record playing muted strings as a beat, record a simple bassline over that, some chords over that, and then play a top part over it all

I had the RC20XL and there was no limit to over dubbing. You can undo the first overdub, but as soon as another one is recorded over that the first one is permanent. Make sense? In certain the RC30 is the same.
