Anyone know why the Oilers did not get this deal?

Because Houston was ready to wash their hands of the entire franchise. As an interesting sidenote: when the Oilers were sucking it up, the fans turned their backs on them. Moon even said Houston's fans were the worst in the league. I don't blame the fans...it's their money to do with what they please. The Saints, however, have been sucking it for nearly 40 years, and yet the games STILL sold out. Good luck, Benson, finding that much blind faith (and blind money) in another city.

It was because of the owner, Butt Adams. He sucked, and was openly hostile to the fans.

The Oilers is still a way better name than the Texans. Really, how uncreative can the NFL be? Right up there with the Phillies on the dumbest team names.

I'd love to see us change our name back to the Oilers. Too bad it aint happening.

...dude, I just spit coffee all over my monitor!

(By the way, great season for your Astros, sorry that y'all didn't get the whole enchilada....)
Windex does wonders....lol...

And for some of the low-class Sox fans out there who have been dissing the Stros, let me clue you in on something-

We have more class than you, even in losing. Kudos to the Sox for winning your first in 88 years, the Series was a close dogfight every game. Y'all pulled it off, good job.

We're winners in that we got to our first WS, and I'm proud of the Astros for giving us the ride this season. We're winners also in that we know how to lose gracefully. We aren't ashamed of our guys going out there and giving it their best, and being bested. I'm proud that we have a team full of honest gentlemen who have the class to walk off the field with heads held high.

Thanks for the kind words, Gard. You're a class guy as well.

To the Saints fans who say they'll stop supporting the team if it moves from New Orleans: I'm in total solidarity with you. I was a diehard Hartford Whalers fan, and when the owner pulled the team out and moved it to North Carolina, I did the same as what you're proposing.
