Lost my wallet

What's the proper thing to do in this scenario? Other than thanking him should I give him some money?

Money never hurts.

True story: I was playing a show at Seacrets in Ocean City, MD. After the show I walked down the road for a late night slice of pizza. Somewhere along the way back I lost my wallet. In the morning a lady found it. She knew my older brother (who now lives in Jacksonville, FL) from a band he was in years ago. She hit my bro up on FB, got my current address (my old address was still on my license),and mailed it back- cash, cards, and all. I sent her flowers later. Of ALL the people who could've found my wallet, it was someone who knew my brother. How lucky is that?!

Cancelling the credit card was a good move. You can't get your wallet back until you've paid your dues in frustration. Once you've done that, the Watchers decide when and if you get your wallet back. You must have some pretty good karma to get it back with only a credit card cancellation and a good 12 hours of stressing about it.

Some years ago, I lost my wallet and lost everything. I had everything replaced.

In the spring, the good lad next door knocked on my door and handed my wallet to me. He had just found it in the snowbank by our mutual driveway. Everything was still in it.

Stuff like that happens when you're living up in Watertown, NY. It must have fallen out of the pocket of my sweat jacket when I was shovelling snow just before I headed to the base to lead morning exercise (P.T. to you former Army guys).

This is especially frustrating as I had stuff in there one should not really carry, such as my SSN... (yeah... I know...)

I foolishly carried my SS card in my wallet for a time. I lost it about 10 years ago. As far as I know, no one wanted to live my life.

I had a few beers and a scotch but nothing that belongs in the drugs thread.

Theres a drugs thread? :hiding:

And old fashioned is in order.

Just received an email from another student who found my wallet. I'll get it back tomorrow!

:hyper:

Bingo. Great ending :)

I'd buy him a six-pack and hand it over when you collect your wallet. Even if he doesn't drink, he'll appreciate the gesture. Sounds like the kind of guy who will probably just buzz off your gratitude. Or is it a girl?

Either way, pleased for you :)

Got my wallet, everything is there, he found it in the cab shortly after I forgot it there. I tried to give him a 20$, he declined. I thanked him a few times.

This is a cool ending.

edit: basically all I lost is time and some money I used to buy a wallet yesterday. I'll get a new cc in the mail soon and my SIN has been flagged for potential theft but that's all details.
