Lost our drummer AGAIN!!!! ARSE!!!

You should give him another chance.

Best laugh I've had all week. Every time I read it, I laugh again!

My current band has been through the same thing with a guitarist who also sang some of the cover tunes the band would do. He quit the first time with no warning and, as I understand it, with gigs scheduled (this was before I joined). Then, he was given another chance, against the better judgement of our band leader. Band leader is a few years older than this guy, and they grew up together on the same street. One day the band leader gave him a little friendly ribbing about something, and the guy got angry and quit again. Recently, he has hinted about coming back once more. The band leader ain't havin' it. He has warned others who've expressed interest in working with him that this guy doesn't do well in a structured environment where there is actual work involved. The last time the band leader advised someone about this and they took the guy on anyway in a recording project, he bailed within three months, wasting all the time and effort everyone put in to helping him establish a solo career. The guy constantly blames everyone else for his failure to commit. It's too bad, because he is very likeable and talented, just not the least bit dependable. I could regale you with many examples. Our band leader's dad likes the guy so much that he constantly hints that we should "give him another chance". Unfortunately, he's serious when he says that! As you may have surmised, BL's dad has never been in a band.
