I picked up a used Fender Aeordyne Jazz bass (2017) recently. It is made in Japan and has metal knobs for the neck and bridge pickup volumes and the tone. Although it plays really nice, there is an annoyingly loud hum. I have done some troubleshooting to try and understand the problem better, but I'm no expert when it comes to electronics. I hope I can get some of advice from more experienced people here.
So I've found that the hum goes away when I touch:
the strings
the bridge
the tuners
the control plate
input jack
neck pickup volume knob
The hum doesn’t go away when I touch:
bridge pickup volume knob
tone volume knob
The hum decreases if I turn down the Neck pickup or tone pickup. WHen I turn down the bridge pickup the hum stays the same.
Not sure what do from here. Should I replace some of the pots? Is the problem with the bridge and tone pots? Thanks in advance.
