loud pickup hum

Just removed a neck humbucker from my p-bass, also removed toggle switch. Put the bass back to the original single pickup. I now am getting a lot of hum through the amp.
Would reversing the wires on the pickup help, or is the problem maybe with the pots.

Did you reverse the leads when you wired it back up? If not, check the ground wire connection coming from the bridge.

Don't remember if I reversed the wires. I'll switch them and see if that's it.
There is no ground wire from the bridge.
